In the case study on the short film "Alma" I have learn that the sound effects and music work insync with each other, to create the mood and drive the plot of the film. Music was used sparingly, mostly for
dramatic accents to lead the viewer. Also the theme music that introduces the film is also the music it ends with which I think ties the whole thing together.
In my own film "The Calling Shell", I intend to use music and sfx to drive the narrative. I want to use the same melody in the beginning as the end to give it cohesiveness. The film starts out slow and picks up tension near the middle with the ending scenes being the most climatic. I intend to shift perspective via the different camera angles, on scene may be at eye level and another shot from an ant's eye viewer.
